Gibraltar BSN Wins Malaysia Best Employer Brand Award 2019 For Second Time

Kuala Lumpur, 3 May 2019 - Gibraltar BSN Life Berhad (“Gibraltar BSN”) has been conferred with the prestigious 'Malaysia Best Employer Brand Award 2019' by Employer Branding Institute (EBI) for the second time. The award ceremony took place at Le Meridien Kuala Lumpur and was hosted by the Employer Branding Institute, World HRD Congress, and Stars of the Industry Group.

Currently in its fifth edition, the Malaysia Best Employer Brand Awards recognises top organisations that have used marketing communications effectively in attracting, retaining, and developing talent. Selection of winners were based upon assessment of key criteria which, among others, included translating and combining vision with action with HR Strategy, aligning HR strategy with business objectives, and cultivating competencies for the future so that the organisation is future-ready.  

President and Chief Executive Officer Rangam Bir said, “We are deeply honoured to receive this award for the second time. This recognition validates the success of our enterprise-wide transformation to become Malaysia’s Community Protection Champion, one with a diverse and highly engaged workforce that is innovative, progressive, and most importantly, customer focused. We take great pride in our relentless efforts to ensure that our employees’ wellbeing and career development are well taken care of because ultimately, they will be the ones protecting the dreams of our customers.

In 2017, Gibraltar BSN implemented its “Lead to ASCEND” development programme to further cultivate the potential of the company’s future leaders. In 2018, the total of internal and external trainings undertaken covered 63.6% of the total staff force, amounting to an average of 2.65 man-days per staff.

Gibraltar BSN also recently relocated to its new headquarters in KL Eco City in 2018, housing all its KL-based staff under the same roof with a flagship Customer Service Center on the ground floor. Set in an integrated green luxury development easily accessible by public transportation, the colourful 47,000 sq ft open concept office spans over 3 floors and was designed to promote innovation, encourage idea generation and facilitate collaboration across the company. The office also boasts of modern-day facilities which include a Digital Innovation Centre, mother’s rooms, collaborative pods spread across the office, and a staff recreational area complete with an electronic dartboard, pool table and foosball table.

As part of Gibraltar BSN’s Organisational Development strategy aligned to its ASCEND Transformation programme, the life insurer recently introduced its Future Ready Skills programme. Upon completion of the year-long training, employees will be able to upskill themselves with new capabilities to compete and thrive in today’s digital business landscape.
